Average co-add some images when creating HCI cube?
From Pierre Baudoz:
I forgot to add to our discussion the fact that the pipeline should allow us to partly reduce the number of slices in a cube. For examples, if we have a lot of individual images because we had a fast image rate, it is better to co-add a few images to create one slice of the cube. That allows faster ADI post-processing. ADI on a lot of short images is not better since the single snapshots will be limited by residual atmospheric aberrations. Typical ADI timescale is 10-30 seconds. Thus if image rate are faster, we might want to decrease the size of the cube.
I think we should consider this beyond the scope of our pipeline for now, and just deliver the unstacked cubes.
@verdoes what do you think? Please assign to me if you think we should add this now, otherwise make it unassigned and put it in backlog.
