Update templates

As a reminder, we list all the templates relevant for image processing as tsf files in our MicadoWISE repository: https://gitlab.astro-wise.org/micado/micadowise/-/tree/master/src/micado/templates All parameters mentioned there have a corresponding entry in ESO-ELT-DIC.MICADO_TPL: https://gitlab.astro-wise.org/micado/micadowise/-/blob/master/src/datainterface/did/ESO-ELT-DIC.MICADO_TPL

By Monday I'll update those with

  • the new names (Gijs already put some of those in the CP),
  • add a few templates Gijs and I discussed yesterday, see also Gijs' notes on Google drive (e.g. MICADO_img_cal_nonlin),
  • the correct template parameters (several parameters are missing) (note that this only includes the parameters necessary for data processing),
  • a description (some descriptions in the Template Manual are slightly outdated)

I'll also add them as a (temporary) appendix to our DRLD. These tsf and tex files are auto-generated, so I can list the template+parameters in any desired format; whatever is most convenient for our collaboration.

All Gijs comments below and inline on google drive are agreed upon with me. I like to highlight two conclusions w.r.t. the naming of templates. Any template that produces raw data that will be processed by 'our' software and whose output will be used in the pipelines will have

  • mode=img/coro/spec, never gen, (so dark will be img, even though they are used everywhere in the pipeline)
  • type=obs/cal, never tec, (tec can be used for instrument health monitoring and one-off calibrations, for which we formally do not write the software)

  • MicadoImgObs -> MicadoImgObs
  • MicadoCoroObsFpm -> fine
  • MicadoCoroObsPpm -> fine
  • MicadoGenCalDark -> MicadoImgCalDark
  • MicadoGenCalFlat -> MicadoImgCalFlat
  • MicadoGenCalWam -> MicadoImgCalWarmmask
  • MicadoGenCalZeropoint -> MicadoImgCalZeropoint
  • MicadoCoroCalStaroffcoronagraph -> MicadoCoroCalStarvisible
  • MicadoGenTecIllum -> MicadoImgCalIllum
  • MicadoGenCalBackground -> MicadoImgCalBackground
  • MicadoGenCalAstrom -> MicadoImgCalRefstars (TBD?)

New:

  • MicadoImgObs -> MicadoImgObsAstrometry (for SCIENCEAI_RAW?)
  • MicadoGenCalFlat -> MicadoImgCalNonlin (for NONLIN_RAW?)
  • MicadoCoroObsPpm -> MicadoCoroCalPupilmask (for PUPILMASK_RAW?)

Special cases (to be postponed):

  • MicadoCoroObsFpmBgVirtual -> Change representation?
  • MicadoCoroAcqStar -> TBD, perhaps not mention in DRLD at all?

More

  • Always use SCIENCE* for SCIENCE raw data, so SCIENCE, SCIENCEAI, SCIENCECOROWAFFLE, SCIENCECOROPUPIL. This will also clarify what is calibration data, in particular COROPUPILMASK
  • Propagate to DRLD

Then

  • Add parameters.
