Create header keywords per observation template for ICS and ScopeSIM
The ICS and ScopeSIM needs to have a list of header keywords that should be added to the raw data created by each template.
Three sets of keywords are distinguished:
- Keywords that change with each exposure. E.g. RA/Dec/time. Those aren't really existing in ScopeSIM at the moment.
- Perhaps the random number generator falls into this category.
- Keywords describing the system. These have a one-to-one correspondence with the IRDB.
- These are automatically converted by both ScopeSIM and MicadoWISE, but not yet in a consistent way.
- Specific configuration of the simulator (e.g. simulation granularity/precision) can be included here too.
- Keywords describing the source. These are used for reproducability.
- For MicadoWISE so far this is done through a single string in the OBJECT keyword that corresponds to a function name in the micado ScopeSIM template package.
- Kieran has an idea for more complicated parametrizations of ScopeSIM templates.
- Simulations that use input outside the ScopeSIM templates (e.g. external images of galaxies) are currently beyond the scope of this.
